See us in action

Read, read, read!

This is what a Book Re-View giveaway sounds like. Kids cheering for books, then taking them home to keep.

Choosing their own books

Every child picks their own books at our giveaways. Age appropriate and grade level, and theirs to keep.

Giveaway day at the library

Tables full of books and a room full of excited kids. This is The Book Re-View in action.

Additional Information

Founded in 2016 by Zach Mayhew and his wife Nikki, who still run every giveaway themselves.
The Book Re-View is run entirely by two volunteers, its founders Zach and Nikki Mayhew, on nights and weekends. No paid staff, no salaries.

Our mission

The Book Re-View is dedicated to providing grade-level and age appropriate literature to students who do not have easy access to supplemental reading material at home.  Our hope is that all children, regardless of the family financial situation, have the opportunity to expand their minds and explore new horizons through the power of reading.

"Zach started Re-View in an effort to get books into the hands of kids that had no books at home. He set up a network to acquire books that were unused at the time from other organizations and gave them to those that had none! What a gift he has! Through hard work and heart, he has accomplished what needed to be done and continues the effort! I would recommend him in any situation where you need someone willing to give his heart and soul to a good cause!"

"Zachary introduced Book Re-view to my children's community school with a limited library. The kids were so excited to pick their very own quality book to take home. Sometimes small acts, like offering a free book, makes all the difference in a child's life. I recommend Book Re-view for any school that wants to work with a great local non-profit organization with only the love of literacy at its heart!"
